Rebel was a word Howlite hated emphatically. They had nor left of their own accord, after all, hadn't chosen their fate, wouldn't dare be associated with disorder. But then, their movement wasn't for laziness or chaos among worlds, but for justice, honor. Howlite was but a minor facet of the crusade, but a crusader nonetheless. No doubt the Homeworld thought of them as gutter trash. And if there was anything they were used to having to prove, it was their worth. That hard work could accomplish anything, even in the face of adversity.
A spark of inspiration came to them and they quickly pushed off the wall with their sword, kicking the dogs backward and coming back to their feet. That was it, now, get in the rhythm - they were never what one would call coordinated except at their desk and on the battlefield, but their blades carried their message for them, grunting with effort. Perhaps more cunning creatures could have done the job, but corrupted monsters like this didn't have the brainpower to outwit the Crystal Gem.
There. Now to take care of the other...
Matter at hand.
Howlite looked up to see a hulking shadow overhead, and had they a heartbeat, it would have stopped dead in their chest.
"Stop!" They exclaimed, dashing frantically out of the way seconds before the boulder plummeted to the ground. "What is it that you are here for?" They were certainly on guard, weapon stiff at their side, but Howlite always wanted to believe in the potential of people. This Gem, origins aside, was no different.
