[ Narmaya may be... well, Narmaya, but this seems quite uncharacteristically... feelings for Aran. Which usually means there is something terribly out of balance in the universe. ]

You seem a little... [ she doesn't want to say strange but there's something off at least. ] Is there something wrong?

[ She has her mouth open ready to protest that something must be wrong for him to be acting this way but before she can work out a way to ask that, he's shoving the pouch at her and she finds herself completely at a loss for exactly what it's supposed to mean. ]

Ah, um– [ but she takes it, of course, because what else is she supposed to do? ] Should I open it?

[Aran can barely even look at her now. Please put the poor man out of his misery. When she does open it, though, she'll find something... softly glowing blue, attached to a silver chain.]

[ She's not sure what she expects to see when she pulls the pouch open, but the sight of that gently glowing pendant is enough to knock the words right out of her. Speechless – almost a little breathless – she dips her hand into the pouch and carefully pulls it out. It's so delicately crafted, all elegant swirls and slender metal and it takes her some time to find some way to respond. ]

Aran, this... it's beautiful, but– but why...?

[ Aran Voliere cuts an imposing figure. He's a hero of the land, a savior of the people, has seen and done things that Narmaya can barely imagine – and here he is, like a schoolboy offering a flower to his beau, all averted gaze and fumbled words and it takes a moment to really sink in what this must mean.

And – before she can really stop herself – Narmaya finds herself laughing.

It's so awful. It's so mean, when he's had to put this much effort in even to make this stumbling attempt, but as inept as this whole affair might be it's in the stumbles more than anything, somehow, that his true intent shines through.

Carefully, so as not to upset either of their balances, Narmaya pulls herself up onto the log. Even with Aran sat down beside her, she needs all the help she can get to be able to reach up to his face and press a kiss, feather soft, to the corner of his mouth. ]

[For the record, as she starts to laugh, Aran is silently screaming. This is it. This is the nightmare scenario. He fucked this up so spectacularly that it's laughable. Honestly, he can't blame her, he can only imagine how much of a fool he looks like right now.

Anxious thoughts are swirling in his mind so much that he doesn't snap out of it until she's right next to him and what is she doing--
