68th ♫ | A miracle where I call out to you with this love song of mine
(Slightly Adjusted) Shameless Shipping Meme
There's nothing wrong with wanting to play out some cute, fluffy interaction. So break out the butterflies in the stomach, the hand holding, the love confessions, the NOTICE ME SENPAIS, and all the adorableness you can stomach - no matter if if fits your character perfectly or not. It's all about characters getting comfortable with each other while being total goobers and showing love.
It's shameless, sure, but it's fun!

She's certainly not complaining, of course. A world even half as big as Earth is still monumentally huge and having the freedom to explore it all, to her heart's content... it still makes her giddy, sometimes. There's the day-to-day fuss of making enough money to travel with, doing errands and keeping monsters off their trail but as far as Lia's concerned, that's much more of a bonus than it is a deterrent.
They're out on an errand today, her and Dwyn. Only her and Dwyn, something she's fine with and a bit ticked off about in equal measure. She's definitely not going to say no to having some alone time with him, but the only reason they have it in the first place is that everyone else had chickened out of coming with them. Things have been getting... better lately, she'll say, compared to how it was when they first started traveling together, but apparently a dull few days on the road with a fae on his best behaviour was just a bit too scary for the brave adventurers of Naeth.
Okay, that's mean. She knows it's more complicated than that, and it's not really fair for her to think so negatively about it. Besides, it means she and Dwyn get to enjoy the trip by themselves and if the others want to miss out on it, then that's that!
They're missing out on a hell of a trip, too. The first day had them trudging through a damp forest, usually all in vivid jewel tones but dyed muddy shades by the overcast weather, with stormclouds threatening to hammer down on them all day. But the weather had held and shortly after dawn the next day, they'd made it to the coastline and all they had to do now was follow the rocky path parallel with the sea until they reached the next settlement. It'd take another day or two of travel, but to Lia, that just meant another few days of drinking in the fantastic scenery. The ocean at their side was a steely gray and buffetted so strongly by the stormy winds that it almost looked to be boiling. The stormclouds above had darkened to almost black at the horizon and they, too, were whipping back and forth furiously in the sky. The weather hadn't broken quite yet, but the threat of it hung palpably in the air and despite herself, it brought a smile to Lia's face. ]
The view makes all the walking worth it, huh? [ She'd been looking out at the horizon, hoping to catch the moment the storm started, but she turns her gaze up to Dwyn and gives him a smile. ] I don't think I've ever seen an ocean this big before.

He's used to travelling alone. Now it's with Lia and that's... fine. Good? It's something he's still getting used to. But he's finding that it's comfortable, surprisingly so. Now there's something he never expected.
He stops and pauses, as she speaks up.]
...Yes, I suppose so. [He's looking directly at her as he says that, not the view. It isn't until after he says that that he looks over at the ocean.] No? It stretches on for a long time. Into infinity, some like to say.

Well, it sure looks like it from here. [ Like you could just set out sailing and never hit land again. Her voice is a little wistful as she says it. Realistically, she knows it'd probably be a horrible thing to experience, but the thought's romantic. ] I guess there'd be no way of knowing unless you hopped on a ship and went out there yourself.
[ Maybe one day when they're all a little more settled. But certainly not any time soon. ]
no subject
Well, if you ever want to, tell me. I'll procure a ship for you.
no subject
I might just take you up on that, someday. Once we're not drowning in requests or worrying about money, we could stock up on supplies and take a trip. I've never been on a boat, but–
[ But how hard can it be? she's about to say, but before she can finish, an icy cold raindrop hits her cheek and she jumps a bit. Hoping it's just a one off, she wipes it away, but then another one comes down and then another. Then Lia tilts her head back to look up at the clouds above them and realizes the bad weather's decided to follow along with them, too. ]
... Oh. We'd been so lucky so far, too...
no subject
...We best find some shelter and wait it out. No sense in travelling like this.
[And then he's just. going to pull Lia in closer and, uh. Put his coat around her. So she doesn't get wet.]
no subject
Iiiiit's fine. Her heart's going at a totally normal pace. Nothing to worry about. ]
Y–yes! [ Her voice squeaks a little as it comes out, though she tries her best to keep it level. ] We're making good time, so a break wouldn't hurt...
[ Well, since she's under here in the coat anyway, she might as well huddle a little closer. Just for the warmth, of course. Nothing whatsoever untoward about her intentions here. ]
no subject
...Obviously he's making sure to move slow enough that she can just stay there.
He's barely giving what he's doing any thought right now, simply focused on finding the most direct route out of the rain. And... ah! There he spots it. A cave. Not too far away, thankfully.]
Come on.
[He'll guide her over there. C'mon, Lia.]
no subject
Oh well. They'll have plenty of time to spot another storm once the weather's not doing its best to drown them out. At least they've got some degree of shelter, now. ]
Alright. [ From the cozy confines of his coat, she gives him a smile. She trusts him to lead where they need to go. ] Have we got any kindling? We'll have to get a fire started so we can dry off.
no subject
[Once they're nice and safe in the cave, Dwyn shrugs that coat off. Making sure it's snug around her.
It's way too big but hey, it'll keep her warm.]
I'll work on the fire. [And he's gonna just reach into his pack. Ah... he really brought kindling, huh? So prepared...]
no subject
No, that's definitely weird. That's definitely SUPER weird.
(But it totally does.) ]
Make sure you get a good spot by it, okay? You're soaked through. If you're not careful, you'll catch a cold.
[ There's a teasing note to her voice and she shakes her hand loose of his sleeve enough to be able to reach out and carefully tuck some of his loose hair from his face and behind his ear. ]
