TYPES OF SCENES
① Action → Gun fights, bar brawls, fights to the death are all possible scenarios.

④ Fluff → Something that is devoid of angst. It's light-hearted and might have the overtone of romance.

ANGST.

⑫ Addicted → You're addicted to something, alcohol, drugs, sex, whatever. It's destroying your life and you can't do anything to stop it.

⑬ Hurt you → You're being forced to hurt someone you love either by betraying them or even being forced to shout things you don't mean. It's for their own good in the end though.

⑯ Frozen → You are entirely helpless, frozen, to stop some kind of disaster.

[it's a jamjar! isn't there a different meme for this? it's too bad i'm going in anyway. it's a jamjar and there's missions and Bryn and Noa have been paired up for this one, sending them scaling up the remnants of a decrepit tower a short ways from their base of operations. Something is wrong with this place; they've sent winged and floating folks to fly and hover and every time they end up grounded, sometimes injured. A colored glow comes from the very top of the tower like a lighthouse beacon. They are hoping it means answers, means a way to keep moving. Someone has to make their way there. The only way up is to climb—and Noa, small and scampering, likes to climb.

She doesn't know if she likes Bryn, who is always just a little too much in a place that is already a little too much, anyway; all activities and loud colors and too many sounds and rules Noa hasn't learned yet. At the same time, Bryn is like her, sometimes. There are rules Noa cannot follow because she doesn't know them, ways people are supposed to talk with and work with and navigate around each other, and Bryn doesn't follow those rules, either. Even when Noa cannot figure out what is wanted of her, she knows the particular feeling of the weight of an expectation, and it isn't there with Bryn. Bryn is like her, too, in that she always wants to go, wants to be somewhere, do something, and that's why they climb up the tower together.

There are gaps in staircases spiraling up between floors, places the decrepit interior is falling apart. Here, Noa climbs up the railings, walking them like tightropes or dangling down to shimmy across one hand at a time like a gymnast. Doing the latter, she looks down, down, down at how dark it becomes below. They might never find her if she falls.

It's only a few feet to the next solid stair. Noa hefts herself up with ease, takes a few steps back to make room for Bryn to come across, and sits down to catch her breath—she does this frequently enough to almost cause concern, if she didn't keep getting right back up and bounding over and across obstacles without hesitation or care.]

[ Much like Noa hasn't quite decided if she likes Bryn yet, Bryn still hasn't quite decided if she likes this world yet.

Despite... well, everything about her as a person, Bryn's not totally incapable of self-reflection. She knows she's generally seen as a flighty sort of girl and it's not something she can altogether disagree with. She can't help it – the world is infinitely interesting and even when there's one thing she has to do there's almost always a hundred other things popping up that she desperately wants to do.

And in a world like this that's so fresh and new, that number feels like it's doubled – no, maybe even tripled. For all the new things she wants to see and explore, there's even more things she has to do that get in the way. She likes the missions, she likes the exploring – she just doesn't like being tied down and told what to do.

She thinks Noa might feel the same, or at least like she would understand if Bryn told her how she feels. So Bryn sticks to her. It's worked out so far, she thinks.

The climb has been fun, at least. As much as she hates being told where to go and what to do, she can't turn down an opportunity for a heart-stopping climb like this. Her strength helps here, too – she's definitely not as agile or graceful as Noa, but she can pull herself up, onto and over things with just her arms even on spots where there's no footholds, so they're making some good progress.

She heaves herself up onto their latest rest stop with a huge huff of breath and promptly puddles herself onto the floor to give her poor arms a rest. ]

We're so high up, I can hardly believe it! And yet, it really feels like we've got such a ways to go, haven't we?

[Noa doesn't answer right away, and instead tilts her head back to look up, up, up at the staircase spiraling up into darkness. While Bryn just sort of melts comfortably onto the ground, Noa sits primly on a stair, knees together, hands folded over each other, flesh fingers idly running along the seam of a knuckle joint on its metal twin.]

We may have to spend the night here, too. [It sounds like a casual observation, the same way someone without any plans for the day might say "I think it might rain later." That's largely just how Noa talks, though, and maybe Bryn is used to that—Noa thinks she must be, if she still spends so much time around her. Usually, Noa is the one attaching herself beside anyone who might understand (and she doesn't speak of her crew but she misses them so much it aches sometimes, in a way unfamiliar to her; she is not used to having enough to miss), and so she recognizes that Bryn thinks they're alike. She doesn't know how she feels about that, but she's never had any problem telling someone she doesn't like to leave her be.]

Unless we go very quickly.
