[ and since Sonico's been expecting her, the door clicks open right away. there's a chorus of meows from all those cats who proceed to crowd around Sonico's feet as she pulls the door open ]

G--geez, everyone, give me a chance to-- ah, Kokoro-chan! Come in -- j--just step over them...

[nohproblem]

Pardon the intrusion.

[Careful, OK... carefully avoid the swarm of cats. Where does she get all these guys.]

[ there's EVEN MORE MEOWING as the herd of cats follow them both through into the main room of the apartment. as promised, there's snacks already spread out across the table -- mostly sweets because really what else would you expect from Sonico -- and she goes to take a seat but then pauses ]

Oh, um-- would you like a drink, Kokoro-chan...? I kind of forgot to put some out, ehe...

You said you prepared snacks, right? If you're having snacks, tea makes them more delicious.

[torya]

Right...! Just sit down and relax then, and I'll make some tea. What kind would you like...?

[ shooing some of the cats away from the tables as she says this. rude, kitties, those cushions at the table are for guests ]

I'm imposing, so whatever you like is fine.

[ Kokoro sits down at the table and tries to act like she isn't nervous. Which. She's good at. ]

N--no, no, you're not imposing at all! I'm happy you came to visit, Kokoro-chan.

[ getting to making some matcha then since that's the kind of tea she defaults to in situations like this ]

Just relax! You're a guest. You're not imposing in the slightest.

[nohproblem]

Okay, I'll do my best.

[Once tea arrives, Kokoro sips it quietly, trying to come up with a conversation topic.]

[ ... sitting in a slightly awkward silence and sipping tea for a moment it is.

eventually, though, Sonico pipes up - ]

S--so, Kokoro-chan... what was it that got you interested in drawing in the first place...?

...Faces. If I could learn to draw faces, I thought that might be a good way to study facial expressions.

Ah, I get it! Like studying a song to try and work out the chord progression. That's a good idea...!

[ you're so smart kokoro goodness gracious ]

Ah... what kind of face should I make then...?

[nohproblem]

Your face is best suited to smiling, so a big smile would be good.

Okay then...! I'll give ypu he best smile I can! Oh, um-- b--but if I look too weird, tell me...!

[ she's going to be sat for a while so she makes herself a bit more comfortable on her cushion and then beams at Kokoro. this is a good enough smile, isn't it? ]

[Kokoro gets out her sketchbook and looks intently at Sonico for a long moment, not yet drawing anything.

Then...]

...This won't do.

Ah...! I--I'm sorry... was I making a weird face or something...? I was trying my best to look natural, but...

[nohproblem]

Your face is good, but the pose is wrong. It should be more dynamic.

[torya]

D--dynamic...?

[ she suddenly has a bad feeling about this, um ]

Dynamic... how exactly...?

I--I'm not sure if I'd be able to hold a pose like that long enough for you to draw it... maybe something a little... simpler...?

A--and since you're trying to study faces...

M--maybe I could just... keep my head turned towards you while I do it...? Just a second...

[ doing her best to imitate the top half of that ridiculous pose while craning her head in Kokoro's direction. ]
