This makes it suck when she doesn't get matched with a Robo, despite being at the top of her class.

Instead, she pilots the first artificial Robo, Hero Force One, and is slowly learning things like "teamwork" and "friendship" and "any kind of expression of outward physical affection." She's quiet and focused and can absolutely be a loud jerk when needed, but her natural confidence is going to evaporate real quick in this kind of scenario so! Touch-starved teenager, getcha touch-starved teenager here! Girls around her age (15) or so for shipping, but more gen stuff is also possible! ]

[Distant, traumatized half dragon blacksmith keeps people at arms’ reach to avoid feeling responsible for others. Their dad was a dragon who was kind of a helicopter parent that had a bad habit of glaring at anyone he felt was a danger of “taking liberties” with his child (a dragon doesn’t need to give the “shovel talk” because if you piss them off you won’t leave enough remains to NEED a shovel to bury), which left Alex with few friends and no dating experience growing up.

That was ordinary stress, though. The real problem was when the dragon got captured by a demon and corrupted until they joined the forces of evil, leaving the defense of the city on Alex’s shoulders. Alex wasn’t ready for it and as a result thousands of people died.

Having a companion along at all, nevermind one she can tease (and who can take it!), has made what might otherwise be long and lonely travel through beautiful (but again, lonely!) landscapes something a little less boring. Of course, their travel onward seems to be delayed by quite the brewing storm, and they've gotten lucky enough to be taken in one of the houses of a small farm development here on the mountain.

The storm hasn't quite arrived yet, though, the skies still heavy with near-yellow clouds that cling to the waning sunlight, and Maya drifts along to her companion's side with something hidden behind her back, kneel-squatting next to him. [After Obi survived Penelope's attack, Jonathan realized something important. That he couldn't hold his feelings back in this situation, not when they could die any day now. After a long, and difficult evening of him and everyone else restraining and calming down Penelope and tending to Obi's wounds, Jonathan approaches him.

It was an awkward conversation, but they both soon realized that they had mutual affections for each other, and while they wouldn't pursue anything serious with Jonathan away from Mina, there was no harm in some light courting and enjoying each other's company while Obi heals.

Today was a similar day to most days since the incident. As it is, he spends most of his time listening to Jonathan and dozing on and off on pain medication that doesn't exist in Clarines. Apparently his sleeping here is covered under "losing consciousness for medical or violent reasons," so no tellyporting for the injured.

He's maybe three-quarters awake when Jonathan's hand closes around his. His fingers twitch in that warm, gentle grip as he blinks the rest of the way conscious. Obi looks down at their hands for a while, as if it's not clear what he's seeing, and finally raises his eyes to Jonathan's face.]
