[ initially, ena was excited when yukihira-sensei announced he'd be running a series of classes at kamiyama. any extra time spent under their tutelage meant even more opportunities to improve. there was just...one small downside. a tiny con on the pros/cons list. the smallest of wrinkles in her plan to become the greatest artist alive.

the class was only held during the day.

she struggled with the decision for nearly a week, ranting and raving at everyone who would listen until mafuyu stated with the subtlety of a brick thrown through a window, "complaining won't change the time the class is held."

although it took all of her restraint not to break a nearby pencil in half, she had to admit mafuyu was right. she could either talk about getting better or actually put in the work. going to class during the day can't be that difficult.

a month later, ena gets why they call people like her suffering artists. forcing people to wake up and be productive before seven o'clock has to count as cruel and unusual punishment. all that's standing between her and the overwhelming desire to quit is--surprisingly--mizuki. her girlfriend's been supportive since day one, even to the point of coming to school more often to keep her company.

she's waiting for her company now after school, idling in the deserted art room while doodling in her notebook. said doodles look a lot like mizuki, but good luck getting ena to admit to it. ]

[ A supposedly curse-bearing young woman whose natural magical energy was corrupted in her youth, which causes her to involuntarily suppress and nullify the magical energy in her vicinity and attract all manner of demons and dark spirits. She takes up life as an adventurer in search of a way to break her curse. Puts on a bit of a front of being the kind, gentle Always Smiling Onee-san type to make up for the trouble she (supposedly) inevitably brings along with her. Suffers a deep-seated desire for approval and a bone deep terror of rejection and abandonment. She's goin thru it!

[ A travelling adventurer (and, secretly, a runaway princess) from the distant European Fantasy Past. Polite, friendly, observant, good-natured and clever but also just... deeply weird!!! Some of it is in a charmingly kooky sort of way, some of it is... you just know she would be one hair away from becoming a Resident Evil villain if she was born into a different genre. Her curiosity leads her to dig into everything she can get her nose into, including things she definitely should not stick her nose into. Definitely the type to like, pick up a poisonous creature bare handed because she got excited about spotting it.

Briar arrives in the city of Libretto after living through the role of the protagonist of a hotblooded JRPG and is in the process of working out who and what she wants to be. Right now, she's settled on being apprentice to the Imaginieer, the one responsible for guiding the story of Libretto and keeping it under control.
