I know they'd wait for me to come back no matter how long it took. I just don't want them to have to wait.

[ She doesn't know how her being brought here worked but she lets herself daydream sometimes that her return will be something absurdly inconvenient – she'll be dropped into her body back home just as she hears the doorbell and this time she'll lock and bolt the door and call the police and nobody will get hurt.

It's such a convenient little fantasy. But she keeps wishing for it, anyway. ]
