Or maybe it was coming into the cafeteria to one if their little after trial parties and realizing with crushing horror that this was starting to become not just expected but routine, almost mundane that had made it so Dia had been forced to excuse herself to the kitchen where she'd stayed all night so far. ]

[ Her voice is a little tight even as her hands betray her feelings. There's a bit too much clatter as she washes, scrubbing just a touch harder than is really needed. The water must be uncomfortably hot too -- it's steaming and Dia's hands are pruny and red -- but it looks like she's hardly even noticed. But she's staring down at them rather than looking at Mari.
