A perma open RP/call me out post for Super Sonico!

This is a post for any and every version of Sonico I've played, so you're free to ask for any established CR or AUs - or just go with straight canon! If you don't voice a particular preference, I'll default to either whatever gameverse we were in together, or canon if we haven't gamed together.

[ she tries not to let too much of her relief seep into her voice, but she can't help it. Part of it is the relief that comes with a doctor's expertise but mostly it's that Naomi herself is coming over ]

S--sorry for the trouble, I just... I really wasn't sure what else to do.

Don't apologize. It's not uncommon for first-time parents to worry like this, and sometimes, their concern isn't baseless. If you can, take her temperature before I get there, and make sure she's dressed down. We want to make sure her temperature isn't at 38 degrees or higher; and if it is, we'll see if it's cause by an mild infection, or too many layers.

Y--yes, I'll do it now! I didn't even think to--

[ okay, no time to fret more, she'd better get to doing what Naomi asked. ]

I--I'll go do it now! I'll see you soon, Naomi-san!

[ and then she hangs up and hurries off to go do that -- and it probably says a lot about her that she feels a bit guilty for hanging up without a proper goodbye, even given the circunstances ]

Yes, I'll see you soon.

[Poor girl... still need to work on that nervous energy. Nonetheless, Naomi gets Alyssa and tells her their heading for Lumiose. While they fly comfortably on Noivern, Alyssa's Swablu flies next to them. The little bird was dreaming big, but no transporting her trainer today.]

[They land short of the residence, Hibiki sticking the landing this time and allowing the two off. Pokemon back in their Pokeballs, Naomi soon knocks on the door and waits for Sonico to answer.]

[ almost immediately, Sonico pulls the door open, looking very much the picture of a fretting parent who's gone without sleep. She's got Nanami dressed down as said, and while she's not crying, exactly, those are definitely some grizzles -- by the sounds of it, she's just as unhappy as her mother looks. ]

N--Naomi-san, thanks for coming... um, I took her temperature and it's 38.5, s--so it's definitely a fever...

[ stepping aside to let them both in and shutting the door behind them. ]

[It would probably be a lie to say she wasn't expecting having a moment like this with Sonico. She just had that personality. Between them both, it looks as though neither of them really slept.]

You're welcome.. by the looks of it, we probably could have arrived sooner. Let's work on getting her temperature down.

[Alyssa looks ready to help too.]

Did you notice her temperature was elevated last night, or just this morning?

[ even though Naomi's not only a doctor, but family too, Sonico still finds herself a little hesitant to give Nanami over to her. There's a fiercely helpless protectiveness sitting in her chest and she has the utterly ridiculous flight of thought that handing Nanami over would somehow be abandoning her.

She takes a shaky breath, and then finally lets Naomi take her, looking a little ill at ease the whole time. ]

T--this morning -- last night she was fussing a lot and she wouldn't settle, a--and I thought it was strange because she'd been sleeping through, b--but...

[Naomi takes Nanami carefully, immediately heading into the bedroom, ushering Sonico to follow. Once there, it's a matter of using the bed to examine the infant. Alyssa spreads a small blanket so Naomi can set Nanami down, lowering her bag to the floor next.]

I see... Has she eaten at all?

[ and of course Sonico follows her though into the bedroom, hovering anxiously and quite clearly at a loss for what to do. she wants to help, of course she does, but Naomi knows what she's doing and Sonico doesn't want to get in her way. ]

N--not yet... she wouldn't eat anything and that's when I started getting worried, because she always eats breakfast...

Hm...

[Fussy, high temperature, and not eating... Naomi frowns. Typical of an infant feeling uncomfortable. Right now, she's considering Nanami might have abdominal pain on top of the temperature. The infant isn't that old... this could be problematic...]

Any other symptoms you've noticed?

She's been coughing a little and her nose is a little runny...

[ as she found out to her dismay last night, rest in peace, favourite nightgown, you did your duty ]

Th--that's why I've been thinking it might be a cold...

I see...

[Then probably not appendicitis. Still, she would keep an eye on Nanami's stomach. She doesn't want to think this is a bacterial fever - Adachi and Sonico were very careful. The doctor... should consider running a test.]

I can give her a low dose of acetaminophen to help with the fever. After that, a sponge bath with lukewarm water, and try feeding her again.

[ she nods along fervently, looking torn between relief and more worry -- it's certainly a weight off her shoulders top have a solution present but there's a little voice in the back of her mind fretting over what they'll do if it doesn't work. ]

Y--yes, if you think that'll work, let's try...! I thought about a bath before you got here b--but... I just... I didn't want to do the wrong thing and make it all worse.

It should work... however, that's only if it's a virus. I want to take a blood and urine test first to make sure it's not being caused by a bacteria, or other disease. I need your permission though.

[ that fierce protectiveness flares up again at the idea of an injection -- even as much as she trusts Naomi, the idea of a needle makes her stomach knot a little bit. But despite that, she nods. ]

Y--yes, that's... that's fine.

... I know you're concerned Sonico, but this is in case, alright? Nanami can't speak to us yet.

[ she takes a shaky breath and nods again, trying to sound a little more sure than she is. ]

Y--yes. I know, I just -- [ a pause. a breath. then a forced smile and a shake of her head. ] It's fine. I trust you, Naomi-san.

[She nods, and opens up her bag to retrieve what she needs.]

Don't worry, Sonico. I'm the only one being the bad guy here... You did the right thing asking.

... I still feel like the bad guy though.

[ her expression and her voice are both glum as she watches Nanami, still making those fussy noises, looking very much as if she'd rather be scooping her daughter up into her arms than letting this happen. ]

I know she won't remember this or even really get what's happening but I still feel awful. L--like... maybe if I'd been more careful, she wouldn't be sick in the first place...

[It's a little more bawling as Naomi collects the blood sample she needs. The other would be a short matter of waiting.]

We all get sick eventually... However, with Nanami, she's young with a developing immune system. I doubt it's anything worse, but this is only a precaution before medication can alter her condition.

[ it takes a great deal of self control not to intervene and it's only once Naomi's done that Sonico lets herself step forward and scoop Nanami back up. She'll hand her back over should Naomi need to hold her but right now, with Nanami crying and fussing as she is, Sonico really can't bear not cuddling her. ]

I--I know-- I'd definitely rather be sure than... well, find out that it's something worse because I didn't check properly.

[ she still sounds a little glum, though. ]

Is there anything we can do while we wait...?

[That's fine. Naomi expected Sonico to do that.]

We can give her that sponge bath.

[ she looks a little relieved to hear that -- actually being able to do something that isn't sitting around and watching seems like it might sooth her frazzled nerves a little. ]

R--right...! She usually likes baths but when she's in a mood like this--

[ and Nanami starts grizzling as if to underline that and Sonico smiles weakly. ]

Y--you might end up getting a little wet... sorry in advance.

Remember to use lukewarm water.
