[ Kalos was becoming unbearably hot.

It was only natural, of course, as summer was coming. People more adjust to warm climates would probably call the Kalosian weather pleasant, or even chilly. But as someone with low tolerance for heat, Miriam couldn't handle it.

Ah, she really missed the Eulalian summers right now. It would be nice if more places only had summer for month...

However, moping about the weather wouldn't solve anything. What she needed was a wardrobe suitable for trials ahead—a task couldn't be completed alone. So, she enlisted the only person she could trust about such matters.

Wearing a simple outfit with a matching purse, she waited for Sonico in front the Prism Tower where they promised to meet. ]

[ Sonico's so used to the broiling city heat of Tokyo summers that Kalos seems almost mild in comparison -- still hot enough to be nice summer weather but not so hot that all she wants to do is lay in front of a fan all day. Of course, there's still plenty of time for that to change which is a little part of why Sonico's so ready for this shopping trip.

She's decked out in summer gear when she comes hurrying to meet Miriam by the tower, a plain white summer dress with a sunhat, just in case. She's still not used to seeing Miriam with short hair so it takes her a moment before she manages to spot her -- and then she beams, calling out to her and lifting her hand to wave as she hurries over. ]

Miriam-chan! I didn't keep you waiting, did I?

[ As soon as she hears Sonico calling her, she beams and waves back. ]

Not at all! I only got here about five minutes ago. [ It's actually been fifteen, but she doesn't want to seem too eager. ]

It's nice to see you—it feels like it's been so long since we met up like this. [ The last time they met outside of the Future Foundation Headquarters was back in Febuary... ]

Right? It always seems like everyone's so busy... it's a little sad sometimes.

[ if she had her way you would all live in her apartment building and you'd be sick of the sight of her

but of course she doesn't have her way and it's been far too long since she's seen Miriam. so of course she's getting a big hug. ]

It's so good to see you...! I've missed you a lot, eheh.

Yeah, everyone always seems to have something going on. [ Although she says everyone, from her tone, it sounds more like she's talking about someone in particular.

After being pulled into a hug by Sonico so often, it doesn't surprise her in the slightest when she is. With a soft giggle, she returns the embrace. ]

Heheh, I've missed you a lot too. Texting and talking on the phone just isn't the same.

It isn't the same at all. There's some things you can't really say without being face-to-face, right?

[ it'd kind of been a hassle trying to keep the news quiet because she'd wanted to tell everyone herself but it's definitely proved worth it so far. ]

Should we go sit down and get something to eat first before we start shopping?

Absolutely!

[ although there's definitely things that are much harder to say in person than over the phone or writing it down... ]

That sounds good. After all, it's important to be properly prepared for any mission.

I'd say it's not exactly a mission, but with the way some of the boutiques are around here, it's exactly that...

[ lumiose, u scary sometimes ]

So, um... where do you feel like going...? There's plenty of cafes we could stop in, or maybe we could get something from one of the food stands and find somewhere to sit?

There's so many of them, and all the streets look the same to me...

[ it's only thanks to the prism tower that she doesn't get completely lost everytime ]

Going to a cafe is always nice—oh, but speaking of food stands, that reminds me I should pick up some galettes once we're done shopping. [ gotta get something for boyfriend roommate ]

Right! I'm sure we'll find a nice one [ with air conditioning ] if we look around. There's cafes everywhere you go around here...

[ gonna just... pick a direction at random and set off because fuck if she really knows where she's going, even after so long of living here. but if there's one thing she knows about Lumiose it's that if you walk in any direction for five minutes, you'll fine a cafe ]

I should pick up some galettes, too... have you tried them with hot chocolate yet? I know it's not really the right kind of weather but it's still a perfect match, eheh.

[ and Miriam is just going to let Sonico lead the way since she definitely has more of clue of where to go than her ]

Heheh, there's always a cafe nearby, isn't there?

[ sometimes she questions why there's so many of them everywhere, but it is nice to almost always have a place to rest and eat if needed ]

Ah, no, I haven't. Hmm, galettes with hot chocolate... [ warm, freshly baked galettes, a cup of hot chocolate... it definitely sounds like a good combination ] I'll have to try that in the future.

[ well at least she's doing a good job of faking it until she makes it... ]

You'd think with how many there are, at least some of them would be a little empty, but it always sees like, whichever cafe we end up picking, it's a little busy... but I guess that's probably why they need so many cafes in the first place.

[ and speaking of cafes, yep, there we go, barely five minutes and there's already a cafe, thank you for being so predictable, lumiose ]
