Why a bat, of all things? That's the part that confused me the most, I think...

I was going to say a cat or a rabbit, but it didn't seem right. And bats are a lot like spirits! Not everyone can hear them, most people don't want to see them or even know they're there, but they're helpful and it can be good to have them around.
