Just toplevel below and indicate in your toplevel whether you're just here to goof around with gen texting or you want to do some ~~spicy~~ stuff, as well as any relevant preferences! You can also include some good ol TFLNs as prompts. GO WILD GO CRAZY.

[He had to note they were inferior, really.]
Even knowing it could have been the end for me, I had to put my life on the line for the possibility of beating him.
[But he didn't. He lost again.]

What bothers her most of all, though, is how much it sounds like something she would say. ]
It's not like I don't understand.
[ She understands a little TOO well. ]
But you get why I'm concerned, don't you?
Like I said. If you were broken down beyond our repair, there'd be nothing we could do to bring you back.
It'd be inconvenient in a lot of ways.
[ translation: it would bum her out ]

I understand. Even if sentimentality is something I do not have first hand experience with.
My destruction has simply never been an "inconvenience" for anyone.
[A whole world of people celebrating your destruction, every single time.
It's not like it isn't his fault, but still.]

[ i–is this her attempt at a pep talk???? of all the people to be giving one............ ]
Besides.
Wouldn't beating him be that much more satisfying if you were actually there to enjoy the look on his face afterwards?
[ never mind, she's the perfect person for this, actually ]

I simply need to figure out why I cannot defeat him despite my superior performance.

Superior performance isn't necessarily everything.
It could be that he has a trick up his sleeve that you don't know about.
Or maybe you need to come up with some strategy that he wouldn't expect from you.

I have been destroyed by Sonic countless times. I would not say I have ever held back against him.
But this time felt particularly..."all out".
I feel at a loss having been defeated this time. I thought my victory was guaranteed.

Could that be the problem?
If you were so certain that you were going to win.
A lot of times, if a person's convinced they have no way of losing, it tends to trip them up and they can make mistakes they might not otherwise.

So the difference in power is not enough. I need to amass more, to eliminate any variables.
[Yeah that's how he's taking this.
"ICBM with a grudge" as starline put it.]

Not necessarily.
You've never heard of poker, have you?
[ just go with it, she's got a point to make here ]

What about it?

It's to do with how you fight.
Sometimes in poker, a player can end up losing even when the hand they have is objectively stronger than their opponent's.
Depending on how their opponent played, or what kind of strategy they used.
Overall raw strength can sometimes be a disadvantage, depending on how your opponent plays.
