A Christmas themed CMO & mingle post especially for post-Dangan Roleplay interactions! Can be the annual Christmas party or just doing Christmassy stuff around December with your murderschool castmates. Murderfam from canon rounds and their associated castmates are all invited for gift swapping and eating way too much and all that good stuff

[Dave's here, but boy is his head somewhere else. At least his Stantler sweater is providing the appropriate seasonal festivity one might expect from a man of Dave's caliber.

He's spaced out by the nearest heat source with a mug of mulled apple cider, one hand, as usual, in his pocket.]

[mopocalypse]

Yaha, Dave-kun. [Sudden Haruka.] Are you even doing okay?

[callbacks]

[The cider splashes as Dave jumps.]

What? Oh, Harks. What, yeah, of course I am, why wouldn't I be.

[Just slurps spilled cider off his hand, another day in the life of Dave Coolkid Strider.]

[mopocalypse]

[Haruka giggles and reaches up to fluff his hair.]

Proooooooobably because something super-big is going on like you're trying to hide what you got Meri-Meri for Christmas. Did you get her a car? I bet you got her a car.

[callbacks]

I'm a student, Harks, I can't afford a car.

[JOKES. Time is money and Dave has all the time in the multiverse.]

Flying's usually faster, anyway, but I guess that's not as pimpable as a set of wheels. Do you think she actually wanted a car? Does Kalos make cars, maybe I should've gotten her a car.

[After a pause, Dave downs the rest of his cider as if to drown his nerves, even though it is 100% non-alcoholic and probably already his eighth mug.]

[mopocalypse]

[Haruka shrugs.] Don't you guys have public transit, anyway? A car is kind of useless, probably. Anyway, since you guys do the giving-all-your-friends-presents thing, I got you something too.

[She holds out a rolling pin?]

At least I hope this isn't terrible. Or something.

[callbacks]

[Dave takes his hand out of his pocket to accept it, looks nonplussed for all of half a second, and then notices the dinosaur pattern and lights up.]

Jesus shitting Christ.

[He holds it up to the light.]

I have no idea what you use these for but I'm going to learn yesterday. Where do you find this crap, Harks?

[mopocalypse]

I dunno, I just look for the coolest weird thing! [She shrugs and smiles.] I mean, I hope you like it. Last Christmas with you guys was the best one ever, so I want to make you all happy too, you know?

[callbacks]

Haruka, it's Christmas and we can pretend I'm drunk and seasonally sentimental, because I'm just gonna straight-up no-frills tell you that the mere fuckin' empirical fact of your existence makes a fuckton of people happy.

[mopocalypse]

[Haruka absolutely lights up at that. She gives an awkward laugh and hugs Dave.]

You really think so?

[callbacks]

[Hug secured and returned.]

'Course I think so. Drunk Dave has no inhibitions, remember? Everything he says is god's sexy, unvarnished truth, praise and amen.

[mopocalypse]

[Haruka laughs and lets go, then takes a few steps back.] Sure, sure. I'm really glad... y'know, it feels weird, but I like you guys being nice to me. Happiness isn't just for other people with nicer lives, you know?

[callbacks]

Well, hopefully we got something going to make your life one of those nicer ones, yeah? Or else I really gotta get my ass in gear.

[kurechin]

Daaaaaaaaaaave.

[ suddenly; Kureha.

She sidles up next to him, looking left and right with all the fervor of someone looking to avoid a relative with a taste for political talk and really wet cheek kisses. ]

Let me hide here for ten minutes. Maybe an hour. Probably more like an hour.

[callbacks]

[He jumps a little at spontaneous sister, but settles in easy and casually positions his string bean body in between Kureha and the rest of the room.]

Okay, but after the sixty minute mark I charge by the quarter-hour.

[Subtle head tilt.]

You all right?

[kurechin]

I'm fine. It's just...

[ she looks around, just to make sure no one's going to hear and then she looks back at Dave. ]

Ginko and Haruka are here. Together.

[ Dave. Dave please her girlfriends are embarrassing her and she doesn't know how to deal, help her. ]

[callbacks]

Ah. There, there.

[A sympathetic headpat. He understands. Of course, he more understands from the other side of the equation, because, let's face it, Meridiana is perfect and he's the human-shaped embarrassment.]

At least they're having fun, right?

[kurechin]

They're having fun picking on me.

[ She goes sulky for a moment, but it's clear by the smile threatening to turn the corner of her lips back up that she's not really that torn up about it. She's just taking a break and checking up on him. Don't think she can't see how weird and jumpy you are today, Dave. ]

... this party is fun, though. It's nice and busy. I keep forgetting what it's like to have everyone here.

[callbacks]

[What? He's not weird and jumpy. He's always like this. This is his chill face. He's fine. So cool.]

Yeah, it's nice. I mean, not that it gets lonely at the B&B, but it's different getting all together for a purpose.

[He bobs his head casually to one side.]

Holidays are cool like that.

[kurechin]

Yeah. They are.

[ There's a warm smile on her face as she says that. It's still strange to think that she's celebrating holidays with her family, with her brother, her dad, her friends. She likes it, though. Every time she finds herself reminded it's like a little shot of delight straight to the brain. ]

Has everybody swapped gifts yet? I'm still holding onto everyone's, but if we're giving them out already then I might as well start doing it too.

[callbacks]

Uh, Harks gave me one but I haven't handed out mine yet. Shit, I should've done that when she did, what the fuck.

[WHERE IS HIS HEAD TODAY hahahahaHAHAha]

[kurechin]

[ ... Kureha squints at him suspiciously. The fluffy bear ears on her head twitch for a moment like they're underlining that suspect glare and then she leans in, just a little. ]

Dave. [ said in her very best big sister voice. ] What's got you acting so weird?

[ like. weirder than usual. ]

[callbacks]

What? I'm not weird. I'm the weird-least. I've never done anything weird in my life, maybe you're the one who's weird. Are you weird, Curry, you could have told me, I'm your brother.

[THROW WORDS AT THE PROBLEM UNTIL IT DROWNS IN BULLSHIT]

[kurechin]

[ ... yeah, something's fucky. He's doing the words thing. ]

You do know that the more you talk, the less I believe you?

[ she'll use her three entire months of authority over you Dave, don't think she won't. ]

Either you did something or you're planning on doing something and either way it's freaking you out. Right?
